 Jean Jullien is a French artist whose simple, expressive drawings have become a universal language for the digital age. Born in 1983 in Cholet and educated at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London, he now works from a studio overlooking the Thames, producing images that travel from gallery walls to phone screens within minutes. His signature style relies on bold black outlines and flat color, reducing complex emotions to a few confident strokes. A single eye, a slouched posture, or a smartphone angled toward a missing face can speak volumes about modern loneliness, vanity, or environmental neglect. Jullien first gained global notice in 2015 with Peace for Paris, a brush and ink Eiffel Tower reimagined as a peace sign, shared online after the city’s terror attacks.
