Franck Noto, widely known as Zest, is an accomplished artist hailing from Montpellier, France, who has established a significant presence in both the street art and studio painting worlds. Born in 1980, he grew up in an artistic environment and discovered the world of graffiti at just eight years old. By 1995, at the age of 15, he made his first official attempts at graffiti, utilizing the medium as a primary form of expression. Noto is largely a self taught artist, developing his unique aesthetic outside of traditional art school settings. His early career was defined by his work with the TDM crew, with whom he created extensive murals across Europe, New York, and Noumea.
As his Instagram often showcases, Noto transitioned from pure graffiti to studio painting around 2000, shifting towards a style defined by abstract forms and a vibrant, often fluorescent, color palette. His artistic focus blends the raw energy of his early street, or street, art beginnings with a more structured, almost cubist, approach to depicting form, particularly the female silhouette. Significant accomplishments for the artist include high profile collaborations with renowned design and fashion brands such as Philippe Starck, agnès b, and Uniqlo. His murals, which are celebrated for their intricate, colorful, and fluid designs, can be found globally in cities like Las Vegas, Zaragoza, Bordeaux, and his hometown of Montpellier.
His work has been featured in numerous prestigious gallery shows and solo exhibitions. Notable examples include "Trait d'union" at Diego Escobar Gallery (Luxembourg, 2025), "Complex Simplicity" at Art Gallery.be (Knokke le Zoute, Belgium, 2024), "Recto/Verso" at Diego Escobar Gallery (Marseille, France, 2024), and a "Collector's dinner" exhibition at Kolly Gallery (Zurich, Switzerland, 2023). In addition to these, he has participated in group shows like "Knotenpunkt" at Affenfaust Gallery (Hamburg, Germany, 2023).
