____________

David Welker is a contemporary American artist widely recognized for his distinctive, intricate style that bridges the gap between lowbrow pop culture and fine art. Born in 1964, Welker emerged from the New York graffiti scene of the 1980s, where he honed his skills in large scale murals and bold graphic design. This foundational experience in street art is evident in his current work, which often features dynamic lines, surreal characters, and vibrant, saturated colors.
Over the decades, Welker has established a versatile practice encompassing detailed oil paintings, screen printing, illustration, and even large scale kinetic sculptures. His art frequently explores themes of urban decay, industrial landscapes, and Americana, populated by a recurring cast of anthropomorphic figures, robots, and whimsical, sometimes grotesque, creatures. His visual language is a complex tapestry of nostalgia and futurism, often evoking a retro-futuristic aesthetic reminiscent of 1930's cartoons and mid 20th century illustration, filtered through a modern, imaginative lens.
Welker has gained a substantial following through his collaborations with popular culture icons and brands. He is particularly celebrated for his highly sought-after gig posters for major musical acts, where he translates the energy of live music into stunning visual narratives. His work can be found in galleries across the United States and internationally, and he continues to be a prolific creator, constantly evolving his signature style while staying true to his roots in graphic storytelling and imaginative design. His art offers viewers an escape into a bizarre, meticulously crafted world that is both playful and profound.

____________

Jim Pollock is a prolific American artist best known for his distinctive and intricate linoleum block prints, particularly those created for the band Phish. A graduate of Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, Pollock began creating posters for local bands in the 1980s, eventually becoming a cornerstone of Phish's visual identity. His work is instantly recognizable for its dense, detailed imagery, often featuring surreal landscapes populated by whimsical, dancing skeletons, fish, and various mythic creatures. These vibrant, narrative-driven prints capture the improvisational and communal spirit of live music events.
Pollock’s process is laborious and highly traditional. He carves his elaborate designs into linoleum blocks, a technique that requires precision and a clear vision as the image is reversed during printing. Each color in a multi-color print often requires a separate block, which he meticulously layers. The resulting prints, frequently hand-signed and numbered, are produced in limited runs, making them highly coveted items among collectors.
Beyond his association with Phish, Pollock has applied his unique aesthetic to a variety of other projects, including album covers, festival merchandise, and work for other musical acts like moe. and String Cheese Incident. His art has a universal appeal, blending elements of folk art, psychedelic graphic design, and a touch of the macabre. He remains a beloved figure in the live music poster world, influencing a generation of graphic artists with his dedication to craft and his vibrant, imaginative style. His legacy is defined by a deep connection between art and music culture.

Ricky Watts is a prominent contemporary artist hailing from the United Kingdom, renowned for his vibrant and intricate abstract works that bridge the gap between street art and fine art. His distinctive style is characterized by mesmerizing, free-flowing line work and a bold palette, creating compositions that are both dynamic and meticulously detailed. Initially cutting his teeth in the world of graffiti, Watts has successfully translated the energy and scale of large-format murals into a versatile studio practice. His pieces often evoke natural phenomena like flowing water, wind currents, or cellular structures, interpreted through a kaleidoscope of overlapping hues that challenge traditional notions of perspective and form.
Watts’ artistic style, which evolved from his early work in graffiti, is immediately recognizable. He employs aerosol paints with remarkable skill, achieving seamless color transitions and precise lines that contribute to the illusion of depth and movement within his abstract compositions. His studio practice demonstrates a refined approach, where the raw energy of street art is channeled into meticulously crafted pieces. The resulting artwork often feels both organic and highly structured, a vibrant interplay of color and form that draws the viewer in and encourages close observation of the intricate details. Watts’ work stands as an example of how artists can successfully transition from urban art environments to established gallery spaces, bringing a fresh perspective and dynamic visual language to contemporary art.

SNIK is a British street art duo comprised of artists Nicholas Ellis and Laura Perrett. Based in Stamford, UK, the pair have been working together since around 2012, building on the initial project started by Ellis in 2005. They are best known for their intricate, hyperrealistic, and large scale stencil work, a technique they have honed over a decade to become highly progressive artists in the field. SNIK distinguishes themselves by remaining traditionalists, painstakingly hand cutting all of their complex, multi layered stencils, where many contemporaries have shifted to digital or laser cutting methods. Their signature aesthetic features captivating frozen scenes of dynamic action, often focusing on solitary female figures and delicate details of everyday life, such as tangled strands of hair or the folds and textures of fabrics. The duo's work often incorporates elements of the natural world, which speaks to themes of fragility, resilience, and the inevitability of nature's reclamation of human spaces. This unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary urban sensibility has earned them commissions to create murals on walls across the globe, from their home in the UK to cities in Norway, Miami, and Hong Kong. Beyond their public street art, Nicholas Ellis and Laura Perrett also produce highly sought after fine art editions and have held ambitious gallery exhibitions, such as "Ephemeral," which explored the transient nature of life and art.

Goin 'Stars Over Wars' Print Available

Artist: Goin
Title: Stars Over Wars
Medium: 3 Color Screen Print
Size: 70 x 50 cm
Edition: OPEN
Price: €99

Goin is a prominent French street artist, with a career rooted in a deep punk legacy and social activism that began in 1999. His work is a potent fusion of graphics and typography, executed with a raw, chaotic energy designed to challenge authority and provoke thought. Describing his creations as a "subversive bomb," Goin aims to initiate a critical spirit in his audience, using public walls and gallery prints as a canvas for his abrasive and denunciatory art.
Goin's artistic expression is defined by powerful sociopolitical messages, with a focus on issues such as social inequality, climate change, consumerism, and the refugee crisis. His technique often involves a striking use of stencils, creating images that are both visually captivating and rich in meaning. A common feature of his work is the contrast of greyscale figures with a single, vivid splash of color, often red, to highlight a specific emotional or symbolic element, such as the red boxing glove in his piece "Stop Bullying" or the barbed wire halo in "Lady Refugee".
Operating anonymously to maintain the integrity of his street art roots, Goin views his work as a form of urban resistance. His murals are often site-specific, engaging directly with the local context, as seen in his frequent appearances at events like the Upfest in Bristol, where his pieces consistently deliver strong, sometimes controversial, anti-establishment statements. Beyond public art, Goin also produces limited edition prints and sculptures, and his work is displayed in galleries across Europe. His continued output since the late 1990s showcases an artist committed to using creativity as a tool for change, leaving an indelible mark on the global street art scene.

_____________

Dan Grzeca is a Chicago-based artist, illustrator, and master printmaker widely recognized for his distinctive, hand-silkscreened prints and posters. A graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drawing in 1990, Grzeca has been a prominent figure in the Chicago art and music communities since the 1990s, when he began his career by contributing short comic stories to inserts in punk and noise rock record releases for the local SKiN GRAFT Records label. He established his own studio and shop, Ground Up Press, in Chicago's Lincoln Square district, through which he has produced thousands of illustrations and prints since 1996.
Grzeca's artistic style is instantly recognizable, often employing a unique technique of scratchboard and pencil drawings transferred to screens for printing. This method produces a raw, intricate, and expressive visual aesthetic, frequently drawing inspiration from painters like Philip Guston and Max Beckmann, as well as from contemporary events and human history. His work is deeply rooted in the local Chicago scene, with many recognizing his art from various events at venues like the Empty Bottle and The Hideout, though he has also exhibited his work in galleries nationally and internationally.
Over his decades long career, Grzeca has built an extensive list of clients, creating concert posters and album art for internationally renowned musicians and bands, including The Black Keys, U2, Phish, Alabama Shakes, Iron and Wine, and the Smashing Pumpkins. He is particularly known for his long standing relationship with The Black Keys, for whom he has designed numerous show posters. Grzeca’s use of screen printing makes his art accessible to a wider audience at lower price points, a stance that is much admired in the art collecting community. He remains a vital part of the independent poster art world, participating annually in the SXSW Flatstock exhibition in Austin, Texas.
