Amy Sol is a prominent American painter and sculptor known for her evocative, dreamlike artwork that blends the natural world with introspective narratives. The self-taught artist spent her childhood in Korea before moving to Las Vegas, where she established her unique visual language, though some sources indicate she currently lives in California. Her style is a unique synthesis, influenced by disparate sources such as classical animation (including Ghibli films and early Disney), manga, traditional folk art, and vintage illustration.

Sol’s art is characterized by a distinctive, muted color palette, which she developed over many years by mixing various pigments and mediums. She typically paints on glazed, primed wooden panels, purposefully incorporating the natural grain of the wood into the composition to add a sense of organic flow and life to her pieces. The subject matter often features young female figures interacting with oversized or fantastical animals in tranquil, exotic landscapes filled with mist, unusual plants, and rolling hills. These figures are typically in a state of repose or quiet reflection, and the animals are presented not as pets but as mythic partners or companions.

Working with an intuitive process, Sol intends for the theme of each image to be subjectively interpreted by the viewer, often using her creative time as a form of meditation.
