Philip Wallisfurth is a German street artist born in 1984 near Aachen who currently lives and works in Berlin, creating a distinct artistic language that blurs the boundaries between urban art and modern painting. Often known by his alias Señor Schnu, he developed his skills as a self taught artist rather than attending traditional art academies, beginning his journey over 15 years ago with paste ups and stencils in various German cities. His work is characterized by a mix of abstract forms and, at times, more gentle elements, frequently featuring his signature moustachioed character in a style that merges street art with, at times, comic influences.
His career took a significant turn toward professionalizing his art during his time in Berlin, where he evolved from early, street work into large scale, immersive, spatial designs. Philip Wallisfurth is heavily recognized for his anamorphic, room paintings, which transform spaces into three dimensional, interactive, experiences. A notable achievement in his career includes his work on the 2022 Peinture Fraiche Festival in Lyon, France, where he designed multiple, large, anamorphic installations. He has also produced a 600 square meter, subway, painting project in his hometown of Aachen, illustrating his capacity for, large scale, public, installations. Beyond his mural work he is known for creating ecological art utilizing moss and yogurt for sustainable street pieces.
The artist has participated in numerous, public, and private, gallery, shows, including group, exhibitions at the New & Abstract Gallery in Berlin, where he appeared in Group Show 16 in February 2022. His artistic, footprint includes participation in notable urban art projects and exhibitions such as Wandelism, Hometown Berlin, and the Pasteup Festival Germany. His work has been highlighted at the URBANSHIT GALLERY which focuses on urban and pop cultural art. He has also been involved in international projects like the CONCRETE LOVE urban art exhibition at the Shanghai Modern Art Museum.
