Arika Uno is a French artist born in the early 1980s in a Parisian suburb, drawing heavily from his childhood passion for Japanese culture and animation. His pseudonym is an anagram of the famous manga Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo, a clear nod to his key influence. Uno's journey into art followed a winding path, including a period in London studying music. After a series of disappointments in his musical pursuits, he returned to drawing and illustration, channeling his rich cultural background into his artwork.

Uno's distinctive style blends contemporary illustration with erotic pop art. His work often features vibrant, colorful figurations and incorporates themes of Pop Art, nudes, and street art. In the same vein as his manga inspiration, Uno's art critiques capitalism while simultaneously paying homage to the creative universes of his childhood heroes.
