____________
Artist and muralist Hannah Eddy, based in Reno, Nevada, has built a distinct visual universe rooted in the free thinking culture of skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing. Originally from the coast of Maine, she developed a passion for mountains that eventually brought her out West. While she has been sketching and drawing since kindergarten, her professional focus shifted toward leveraging art for connection and community in more recent years, accelerated by a self initiated "100 days" challenge in 2018. Regarding her background, she studied art at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her work is immediately recognizable for its pop surrealist aesthetic, featuring anthropomorphized landscapes, bold line work, and a vibrant color palette designed to encourage nature appreciation and environmental stewardship.
Throughout her career, Hannah Eddy has translated her illustrations into various mediums, from large scale public murals to product graphics for major outdoor brands. Significant accomplishments include collaborations with Patagonia, Vans, Giro, and Santa Cruz Skateboards, along with being a creative alliance member for Protect Our Winters. She has made a notable impact on public art, with murals found in Reno and across the country. Her work was featured in a 2023 mural festival organized by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance. Hannah Eddy has also participated in gallery exhibitions, such as those featured at ABV Gallery, showcasing her unique, whimsical approach.
Among her notable creations and recurring motifs are her anthropomorphized mountains, skull snail characters, and pieces that blend landscape with emotional affirmation. Famous, recurring, or widely recognized pieces and themes often include titles like "Reflection," "Base Camp," and "Sea Fades to Sky". Hannah Eddy’s art is frequently characterized by its "weird fun" vibe and a mission to spread positivity while addressing serious environmental and social issues through a lighthearted lens. Her work for projects like PangeaSeed's "Protect What You Love" exemplifies her commitment to using art for conservation, making her a sought after creator in the outdoor and limited edition art print scene.
