Samuel Albrecht, born in Bruges in 1990, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Ghent and Bruges. His practice expertly bridges material research with human behavior, offering profound reflections on modern society.

One primary focus of his work is the material culture of waste and overconsumption. He treats discarded matter not as mere trash, but as important carriers of hidden values and complex social patterns. This innovative approach transforms everyday refuse into meaningful art that invites a second look at what we often overlook or consider fragile.

On the other side of his practice, Albrecht examines the nuanced ways people navigate tensions between individual freedoms and collective repression, exploring how social structures impact public space. His artistic output is diverse, spanning various mediums including collage, assemblage, installation, and audiovisual work.

Drawing inspiration from influential movements such as conceptual art, arte povera, and ecological discourse, Albrecht utilizes humor and a sense of play as critical tools for social commentary. Albrecht was trained in Audiovisual Arts at the respected RITCS School of Arts in Brussels.
