_____________
Cinta Vidal Agulló, known professionally as Cinta Vidal, is a highly acclaimed artist and painter based in Barcelona, Spain, who has redefined structural perspective through her unique “ungravity constructions.” Born in 1982, she has been drawing since childhood and formally pursued her passion at the Escola Massana in Barcelona. Her foundational training took a significant turn at age sixteen when she became an apprentice at Taller de Escenografia Castells Planas in St. Agnès de Malanyanes, Spain, where she developed a deep mastery of scenography and painting backdrops. This experience working with theater sets profoundly influenced her, shifting her focus toward architecture and how individuals interact with their environment.
Cinta Vidal paints intricate acrylics on wood panels, crafting surreal worlds where gravity is merely a suggestion. Her work often features floating, distorted architectural structures, such as houses, staircases, and urban landscapes, which act as metaphors for the differing, often isolated, viewpoints individuals hold while sharing the same space. A defining, deeply personal element in her art is her love for astronauts; she frequently includes these cosmic figures within her scenes to emphasize a sense of isolation or a unique, detached observation of daily life.
Cinta Vidal has participated inNumerous prestigious exhibitions globally. Her first solo exhibition was held at Miscelánea in Barcelona in 2015. She has held multiple solo shows at Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, including Gravities in 2016 and Viewpoints in 2018. Notable group exhibitions include the Urban Nation 2018 exhibition in Berlin and the Moniker Art Fair in London. Her work has been showcased at Gallery Zink and Beinart Gallery in Australia.
Significant accomplishments for Cinta Vidal include her extensive mural work, which has been installed in various locations worldwide, including in Hawaii, Long Beach, Hong Kong, and Japan. She participated in the "Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape" mural exhibition at the Long Beach Museum of Art. Famous pieces by the artist, often sought after by collectors of limited edition art prints, include "Together Alone," "Urban Night," "Connected and Disconnected," and the "Reading Club".
