Born in 1996, Vinnie Hager is an American multidisciplinary artist and designer hailing from Maryland, specifically rooted in the Baltimore area. His artistic journey began with an addictive tendency to scribble on school papers in middle school, evolving into a dedicated practice around 2011, which he later refined through formal education. Hager pursued his passion by earning an Associate Degree in Visual Design from Anne Arundel Community College in 2016, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts in General Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2021. His work is characterized by intricate, puzzle like compositions of lines, shapes, and symbols, often referred to as a "jigsaw puzzle" style, which he translates across paper, canvas, digital platforms, and wearable art.
Hager has achieved significant recognition in the digital and physical art spaces, marked by collaborations with major brands such as TIME Magazine, Instagram, Starbucks, and Tommy Hilfiger. A key milestone was his commission for the first digital art piece in Tommy Hilfiger’s collection, titled "Starting Point". Furthermore, Vinnie Hager launched a major, deeply personal project called "Diary" in 2023 on OpenSea, which chronicled seven years of his life through 100 unique, autobiographical drawings. His reach also includes public art, such as a mural on the Exelon Building in Baltimore.
Throughout his career, Vinnie Hager has participated in several exhibitions, showcasing his work at venues like the Artspace Gallery in Richmond, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, the Circle Gallery in Annapolis, and Terrault in Baltimore. His work has even appeared in a billboard in Times Square. Known for his "scribbly" style, he also had his first piece featured at Christie's New York in 2024 titled "Handle With Care". Vinnie Hager's ability to create functional, wearable, and intricate art continues to make him a notable figure for collectors of modern, limited edition pieces.
