Louis "Masai" Michel is a prominent UK-based painter, sculptor, and muralist who uses his art to raise awareness about the sixth mass extinction, climate change, and species equality. His work is deeply influenced by his environmentalist passions and aims to give a voice to voiceless species through public and gallery art.

Michel grew up in Surrey, England, where he was heavily influenced by his father's painting. After earning a fine art degree from Falmouth University, he moved to London and began focusing on large-scale murals of rare and endangered species, developing a signature "patchwork-quilt" aesthetic.

His style often depicts animals in the form of a cuddly plush toy, symbolizing that only toys and souvenirs might remain if the actual species are not preserved. These intricate compositions weave in details exploring cultural fabrics, popular culture, and conservation elements. His public murals double as awareness campaigns, speaking to the local communities about biodiversity collapse.

Michel's projects include the international "Art of Beeing" mural series in 2014, which aimed to highlight the plight of the honeybee and colony collapse disorder across locations like London, New York, and Miami.
