Keep Calm Gallery 'Oh Deer' Kraft Print Released

Ha, I love this print by Hayley & Lucas over at Keep Calm Gallery. This print is the perfect happy medium to keep a couple together. This trophy print is called 'Oh Deer'. It is a 1 colour white hand pulled 15.5 x 21.5 inch screen print on 100% recycled brown kraft paper for only $28.22 each. I really dig this colour for the stag's colour but there are also Gold and Black versions available in Keep Calm's online shop.

Todd Slater 'The Dead Weather' + 'Ween' Prints Released

Here is a beautiful concert/art print from artist Todd Slater, this print was made for 'The Dead Weather' gig at The Austin City Limits Music Festival on October 4th. I am not a big fan of concert posters generally but this is a thing of beauty. The spines, ribs and bones perfectly postioned to make a very menacing looking grizzly bear. A thing of beauty indeed. This is a 3 colour 17.5 x 25.25 inch screen print with an edition size of 130, comes signed and numbered by the artist for $40 each. He also dropped a pretty cool 'Ween' gig print inspired by Alice In Wonderland (below) and a very cool looking copper variant of the same 'Ween' (bottom) print too.

Dan Witz 'Dark Doings' AMAZING Art Show

Here are two examples of artist Dan Witz's work. I really dig this work he is doing!! When I walk around my city schemeing up art ideas the commonality that all buildings share is that they ALL have doors, so that has been a focus of mine the last while. Dan did a fantastic job at making something boring, intriguing. Dan is having a show called 'Dark Doings' at the Carmichael Gallery opening tonight Thursday November 5th until Saturday December 5th. Nick Walker 'TMA Moscow' Print Lottery

Black Rat Press is delighted to be publishing the latest edition from Nick Walker’s 'The Morning After' series. TMA Moscow is a 16 colour screen print and is our favourite TMA print to date. From past releases we know that the demand for this series of prints is extremely high and that whichever way we release it some people will be disappointed. Emek 'Carnivorus Musicalus' Batik Released

Here is the next release by artist EMEK, it is called 'The Carnivorus Musicalus'. This is a very limited edition hand painted batik measuring 68 x 45 inches in size. There are only 65 in the edition and they come signed and numbered by EMEK for $125 each. Each batik is hand painted by a family in Bali, Indonesia. Upon arrival in the USA, they are signed and numbered by Emek. (image below) No two batiks are the same! In addition to a wall hanging, some people frame the batiks or even wear as a sarong. 'The Carnivorus Musicalus' was originally used on as the official event poster for the 2007 Coachella Music Festival - beautifully illustrated by Emek. A portion of every sale will go towards new filtration systems. The family who makes each wall hanging by hand is paid very well and hopes you love our product! The word batik (pronounced Ba-teek) means "wax written" and this is basically what batik is. It is a way of decorating cloth by covering part of it with a coat of wax and then dyeing the cloth. The waxed area keeps its original color and when the wax is removed the contrast between the dyed and undyed area makes the pattern. Big, bold designs in bright colors are most striking. The fabric is 100% Indonesian rayon. Made from natural coconut cellulose. The fiber is put through a process using alkaline, making it into a woven fiber, which makes a good durable textile. There are many different qualities of rayon and we only work with the highest quality. The dyes are a colorfast - the same as the dyes used for any textiles. Unfortunately it is not a natural dye; as natural dyes will wear and fade very quickly. However, the dye baths go in to a filtration process being disposed which is a progressive environmental step for the people of Bali. All the dyes are hand blended to get the different shades. Then they are literally painted between the wax lines with paint brushes. I just checked back and now it is sold out!! Shitty!! :(

Andrew Pommier 'Things I Don't Remember' Book Available

This is a very cool book from artist Andrew Pommier & Crownfarmer. This book is called 'Things I Don't Remember' and it has some GREAT artwork in it. Check out the awesome sketches, SICK!! His style reminds me so many different current artists!! I LOVE IT! This is an 80 page perfect bound book with a reasonable price of only $30 each.

In my opinion the book cover itself would be a great art print!!

Tyler Stout + Cohen Morano Collaboration SNEAK PEAK

We at Burlesque are super happy to be publishing and printing an art print designed by the über-talented artist Tyler Stout almost a year ago, Tyler created this fantastic illustration, intended for the front cover of Cohen Morano's art book 'The Rest is Up to You'. The publisher ended up using something else for the cover (bummer!) and we jumped at the chance to bring Tyler's incredible illustration of Cohen and his wild imagination to life as an 18 x 24 inch art print! We have completed all the printing and now the prints are getting sent off to Cohen, so he can watercolor paint on each and every print, so no two will be alike! Incidentally signed copies of 'The Rest is Up to You' book are available in our onlne store and this killer print will be coming soon! I will update you when I get offishall word!
