Rhys Brown 'Madeline' Original Available

Artist: Rhys Brown
Title: Madeline
Medium: Original Canvas
Size: 70 x 80 cm
Edition: UNIQUE
Price: $800

Rhys Brown is a contemporary artist who uses his work to explore themes of nostalgia, childhood memory, and identity. He was born and raised in South London, where he began his artistic journey as a teenager, engaging in graffiti and creating a style of street poetry on the walls near his home, an approach he developed without prior knowledge of artists like Basquiat. This early practice of finding inspiration in everyday observations and overheard conversations laid the foundation for his later studio work. Brown received formal art education at South Bank Colleges and the Croydon School of Art, graduating in 2014, which helped him transition his focus from illustration to a variety of media including sculpture, painting, and printmaking.
One of his most distinctive techniques is a process he calls "vegan gyotaku," a unique interpretation of the traditional Japanese method of fish printing, originally used by fishermen to record their catches. Brown has adapted this method by using plush toys, objects with a universal emotional resonance, as his subjects. The process involves applying ink to the soft, unpredictable surfaces of the toys and then pressing them onto a canvas or paper, creating unique relief prints that capture the object's form. These works, along with his oversized teddy bear paintings that have been compared to Yves Klein's Anthropometries series, are known for their ability to evoke a sense of youth and happiness in the viewer.
Brown's art is produced in a way that ensures each print is unique due to the variable pressure and movement applied during the process. His work has gained international recognition and has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across major cities including London, Paris, Seoul, and Taipei. He previously worked as an artist assistant at the Pure Evil Gallery and is also the founder of Joyride Editions, a venture that produces limited edition prints and handmade sculptures for various artists. His career includes several sold out solo print releases and a growing presence in the global contemporary art market.

Swen Swensøn is a renowned German illustrator and graphic designer known for a pure and minimalistic style that captures the subtle beauty and quiet humor in everyday life. Based in both Hamburg and Leipzig, Swensøn aims to evoke positive feelings through his work, offering a calming counterbalance to the stresses and negativity often found in the modern world. His art, which he creates using both traditional methods like acrylic painting and digital illustration, is instantly recognizable for its ability to tell a whole story with simple motifs, clean lines, and peaceful tones.
The central theme in Swensøn's art is the appreciation of small, seemingly ordinary moments and funny encounters, which he documents in a published book titled The Ordinary and The Odd. His subject matter is wide ranging, encompassing idyllic landscapes, striking architectural forms, various people, and colorful animals. What makes his work particularly engaging is his deliberate choice to hide deeper meanings or messages within the image that only reveal themselves upon closer inspection, encouraging the viewer to pause, reflect, and appreciate the details they might otherwise miss. This practice of freezing a specific moment in time invites a quiet contemplation, an experience he describes as a symbiosis between the moment and the art itself. Swensøn is a prolific artist, collaborating with various international brands and interior designers, with his work available for purchase on different platforms and in various shops.

____________

Chuck Sperry, born in 1962, is a celebrated American artist and master printmaker best known for his psychedelic silkscreen prints and iconic rock posters. His work is a fusion of Art Nouveau, pop art, and classical symbolism, often featuring female muses with flowing hair and intricate, shimmering patterns. Sperry gained prominence in the San Francisco music scene, where he designed limited edition posters for legendary bands including Pearl Jam, The Who, and The Rolling Stones, with his work now archived at institutions like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
A dedicated craftsman, Sperry is known for his hands-on approach, meticulously hand printing each color layer by layer in his Oakland studio, Hangar 18, a process he views as a critical part of the artistic expression itself. Beyond music, he is a notable political activist, having co-edited the political comic book World War 3 Illustrated and created powerful protest art, such as the iconic poster for Occupy Oakland. Sperry's art, which he describes as a "utopian provocation," is internationally recognized, with solo exhibitions in major cities like Paris, Rome, and New York, and a large format book, Color x Color: The Sperry Archive 1980-2020, documenting his extensive career.

Norbert Bisky 'Generalprobe' Print Available

Artist: Norbert Bisky
Title: Generalprobe
Medium: Giclee Print
Size: 30 x 40 cm
Edition: 25
Price: €2,000

Norbert Bisky, a significant contemporary German painter, was born in Leipzig in 1970 and grew up in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) as part of a staunch communist family. The collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989 provided him with a new sense of freedom and direction, leading him to pursue a career in art. He studied under the influential artist Georg Baselitz at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1994 to 1999, becoming a master student in 1999. During his studies, a year abroad in Madrid exposed him to the powerful works of Spanish masters like Francisco de Goya and Francisco de Zurbarán, which greatly influenced his style.
Bisky's large scale, intensely colored oil paintings are known for their blend of figurative and abstract elements, often depicting young, idealized male figures in scenes that blur the lines between idyll and chaos. His early work drew heavily on the bright, almost overexposed aesthetic of the propagandistic Socialist Realism imagery of his youth, which he ironically described as "washed with Lenor". However, a closer look at these seemingly utopian scenes reveals a world filled with destruction, violence, and a sense of underlying unease, reflecting the artist's personal experiences of terror and the fleeting nature of life.
He translates personal experiences, global events, and media influences into powerful visual narratives, exploring themes of beauty, sexuality, violence, and destruction. Bisky's style is characterized by energetic brushstrokes and a vibrant, often primary, color palette that adds an immediate and dreamlike quality to his compositions. His works can be found in renowned international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, and he continues to live and work in Berlin and Málaga, Spain. He remains a prominent figure in contemporary German painting, with his art reflecting the complex duality of hope and turmoil in the modern world.

Sara Pope 'Rosso Corsa' Print Available

Artist: Sara Pope
Title: Rosso Corsa
Medium: 2 Layer Gloss on Giclee Print
Size: 100 x 80 cm
Edition: 20
Price: £850

UK artist Sara Pope, born in Stoke on Trent, has carved a distinctive niche in the contemporary art world with her iconic, highly seductive paintings of voluptuous lips. Drawing on a fascinating background that includes a degree in mathematics, a diploma in footwear design, and a successful career as a shoe designer for brands like Paul Smith and as a magazine art director, Pope's work is deeply informed by the aesthetics of fashion and media. Her paintings explore themes of beauty, desire, femininity, and the power of communication, using the slick, glossy visual language she encountered in the advertising world.
Pope's unique process begins with a photographic session involving models, makeup, and specific lighting to capture unique expressions, which then serve as the foundation for her artwork. She applies numerous thin layers of oil-diluted paint, sometimes even mixing in lipstick, and blends them meticulously to create a flawless, hyper real, and almost glass like finish that emulates the seamless perfection of digital imagery. This technique, which eradicates visible brush strokes, challenges viewers to reflect on idealised beauty and consumer culture. Her work has been exhibited globally in prestigious venues such as the Saatchi Gallery in London and SCOPE Miami. A notable moment in her career was when her original portrait of Pope Francis was accepted into the Vatican collection in 2014, making her the first British female artist in over 70 years to have a piece in their collection. Sara Pope continues to captivate international audiences with her bold vision and ability to unite commercial aesthetics with social commentary.

_________________

Florist is an anonymous London based street artist who creates distinctive pixelated mosaic artworks across the city's urban landscape. The artist's pseudonym, often accompanied by an 8-bit style flower motif, is the central theme of their work, which frequently appears in areas like Shoreditch. The use of glass tiles is a signature choice for Florist, specifically "because it dances in the sunlight," a deliberate selection that adds a dynamic, light reflecting quality to their public pieces. This modern form of mosaic art serves as an artistic intervention, with the artist often installing their designs on buildings or surfaces they consider visually unappealing or "eyesores".
Florist's creative journey is rooted in a rekindled passion for art that began after a long hiatus following a teenage brush with the law; they received community service for graffiti as a youth and stopped creating street art for a period. Returning to public art as an adult, Florist found a unique means of expression in the mosaic form, which allows for a vibrant exploration of color and shapes. Their work is notable for its diverse range, encompassing original floral inspired motifs as well as topical and politically charged responses to current events, a practice that has gained significant attention on social media platforms. By utilizing the durable and light catching medium of small glass pieces, Florist contributes to London's rich street art scene, following in a tradition of other notable UK mosaic artists like Eduardo Paolozzi, albeit with a distinctly contemporary, pixelated, and urban flair. Florist embraces modern communication, using social media to share their process and engage with a wider audience, further solidifying their place in the contemporary art world.
