PicturesOnWalls has released a new print today from my favorite Portuguese, artist Vhils. This print is by far my favourite from his releases. This beauty is called 'Periferia Uniforme' it is a 50 x 70 cm multilayered print using drawing inks, bleach, screenprint inks and varnish with an edition size of 200 for £275 each. Our man from Lisbon has produced his most technically ambitious prints so far. Layers of inks, bleach and more ink makes each print unique. "The process took over 200 bottles of ink, several family sized tubs of Domestos, destroyed twelve silk screens and brought Vhils out in a nasty rash."

Obey Aung San Suu Kyi 'Freedom To Lead' Print Release

On Thursday June 25th Obey will be having a special release to help bring awareness to call for Human Rights in Burma.  The proceeds from this print will go to benefit the Human Rights Action Center and The U.S. Campaign for Burma.  This print is as usual 18 x 24 inches comes signed and numbered edition size of 450 for $50. This Human Rights cause is something I believe in strongly. I created this portrait of Aung San Suu Kyi to raise awareness of her situation and the overall situation in Burma. Here is a GREAT print from Brooklynite called 'Sho Shin' by artist Specter. Hand painted with black screen print overlay on aged and distressed archival cardboard. it is 20 x 24 inches has an edition size of 10 and cost $500 each. This is a stunning print, just a bit pricey for my liking!

Hajime Sorayama 'Sexy Robot' Print

Since I am on the top of Hajime Sorayama vibe, check out this stunning print by him available at Colette. "The spotlight is on cult Japanese artist, Hajime Sorayama this limited edition print, exclusive to colette. In the late 1990's, Sorayama was approached by the Sony Corporation to design an organic robotic form. It became the famous "AIBO" dog, now in the collection of the MOMA and then Smithsonian Institute of Technology. Intrigued by the effects of light on various metallic surfaces, and always ready for challenges to his technique and imagination, he began to produce a series of female robotic figures in the late 1970's; anatomically correct in form, but appearing to have been fashioned of molten silver. The term "sexy robot" was coined to describe them." These prints are 70 x 100 cm and cost €250 each.

Here is the first peak at the NEW piece by KAWS + Hajime Sorayama's 'No Future Companion' all I know is that it is 13 inches tall and will cost $980 USD each but I am unaware of edition number. These babies go on sale on the KAWS website sometime on Saturday June 27th, 2009. From KAWS "Set to release this Saturday at OriginalFake in Tokyo.
