Here is an awesome piece by artist Evan Hecox, this piece is fully inspired by Evan's recent trip to Vietnam. I checked out his work from the recent show at Joshua Liner but this is a winner. I love the usage of red gives a nice communism feel of the design and the awesome composition of this piece creates a very thoughtful vibe! This beauty is called 'Red Street' it is a gouache and ink on stained 20 x 28 inch paper for $2,800. Check it out HERE

Malleus 'Watching You' + 'Tomorrow Never Knows' Print Releases

Here are two releases from artist Malleus, the above print is called 'Watching You'. This poster was originally realized for a carnival party, so we imagined the cow of the famous cover of Pink Floyd’s “Atom Heart Mother” masked as Gene Simmons of Kiss. We’ve always loved this image, so we decided to realize it in a large size as a handmade silkscreen. First of all for hanging it in our living rooms… ahaha It’s a 7 colours print of about 70 x 70 cm (that is, if I’m not wrong, 27 x 27 inches) on heavy paper. We’ve used a light blue metallic ink, a deep green, a prismatic gold/pink for the shadow on the cow and a metallic black. Well, apart from red, brown and green. We’ve recorded all the printing process and You can see all in the video below. It’s been fun, we usually print on smaller sizes, so we had to change some of our “printing habits”. We’re also working with new inks, so the colours are more vivid and metallic comes out of the paper. Check it out HERE

Malleus 'Tomorrow Never Knows' Edition of 100 Size: 60 x 90 cm 

This print is called 'Tomorrow Never Knows' and it was created in conjunction with the new Beatles museum in Hamburg, celebrating the Beatles formative days on the Reeperbahn. It’s called the Beatlemania Museum. It has five floors, 1300 square meters of Beatles stuff, a yellow submarine…  it’s a huge tourist attraction, right on the Reeperbahn near where Flatstock Europe is located. They have exhibition space, and they’ll host a show of Beatles-themed art prints before, during, and after Flatstock. The show begins on September 24th, with an opening event at 7:00 PM. Thereafter, it will be open from 10am-10pm and is free to anyone with a Reeperbahn Festival pass. We’ll be a part of the event and we’ve create an art print, as a visual interpretation of one of our favourite Beatles song: 'Tomorrow Never Knows', from the album 'Revolver'. Check it out HERE

Here are three NEW (sort of?) releases from artist David Flores. The above piece is 'Kidrobot Truck' this time it is printed on wood with an edition of 7 unsure of size (prob. 24 x 18 inches) they will cost you $150 each. This Death Cab For Cutie print by artist Emek is based on the DCFC song, "I will follow you into the dark" The original drawn in scratch board and printed as a silkscreen. So, whilst surfing around last night. I found this Obey 'Michael Jordan' print. Although not available for sale, yet. This is rumoured to be the next in the series of sports star prints in conjunction with Upper Deck. "Everything about Michael Jordan is iconic, from his slam dunks to his signature shoes, so he makes a great subject for portraiture because everything about him is laced with cultural significance." - Artist Shepard Fairey. I am not sure why they did not continue their NBA series after Kobe with Lebron, Dwight Howard or even Dwayne Wade, not a well retired arrogant baller that we have all seen way too much of already. Let me guess the one signed by both Shep + Michael will be $2300 each with an edition of 23.

FROM JOSHUA BUDICH "I've recently teamed up with The Mark Sandman Music Project to create a portrait of the late, great lead-singer of Morphine, Mark Sandman, in order to raise money for their cause. On July 03, 1999 Mark Sandman (1952-1999)
died of a heart attack on stage during the second song of Morphine's set. He was 46. The Morphine team has set up a benefit in his name.
Donations will benefit music education programs in Cambridge, Massachusetts public schools. 'Sandman' is a 4 colour 18 x 24 inch screen print on white matte paper comes signed and numbered with an edition size of 75 prints and will be $35 each. These will be available TODAY Tuesday September 8th at 3pm EST. Proceeds from the sale of the prints will go directly to the Sandman Project. Check it out HERE

Black Cat Bones in Puebla, Mexico is shaping up to be a really cool coffee shop/ art space.  In their first month they put up an art show of B-movie screenprint posters made up almost exclusively of prints that I art directed during my employment at local movie theater and for October they’re doing a 20th anniversary tribute to my favorite TV show- Twin Peaks.  Artists from all over the world are contributing, and ‘En Los Arboles (In the Trees)’ is ours!
