Mr Brainwash 'Bat Papi + Cat Nana' Prints Release Details

Here finally is the release day for 'Bat Papi and Cat Nana' by artist Mr Brainwash. This originally popped up in early November but seemed to be quietly swept under the carpet until now! This will be sold as a diptych only and both prints will both be 11 colour 15 x 19 inch screenprints on uniquely hand stained hand torn archival art paper with an edition size of 150, these come thumb printed signed and numbered by the artist for $375 each. These will be available at 3pm EST on Tuesday February 8th.

Tim Ripley 'Mushroom Jazz 7' Mark Farina Tour Poster Release Details

Here is a BEAUTIFUL tour print by artist Tim Ripley for DJ Mark Farina's upcoming 'Mushroom Jazz 7' 2011 tour. This print is probably 18 x 24 inches inches on 150lb acid free paper, comes signed and numbered by the artist for $$$. These will be available on Tuesday February 15th on his site.

"Tim Ripley is an artist who creates paintings, posters, and sculpture. His artwork is characterized by clean detailed compositions and surreal narratives. His paintings are hyper realistic oil renderings of mysterious, sexy, and ominous abstract clay forms. After a recent introduction to screen printing processes, he has managed to create body of poster art which is extremely accomplished yet deliberately understated. Tim has exhibited work in galleries and museums across the country. He teaches painting and drawing at Columbia College Chicago, where he currently lives. Tim’s painting was recently featured in the 2010 midwest edition of New American Paintings."

Obviously American - and obviously drawn by an American male whose "lowbrow" designation and credentials belie the commendable expertise he brings to every one of his works. Mitch O'Connell (and shouldn't he be a fighter pilot or a mercenary soldier with a name like that?) plays a nice game of discretion with his curriculum vitae, but his works fill the empty spaces nicely. This damsel with just the right amount of cumulus near the horizon is framed by appropriate iconography: tempus fugit, heavenly rewards, and carnal satisfaction. The promise of paradise is seldom advertised so happily. Even that smiling little devil seems to agree!"
